Monette will teach you traditional Manding rhythms from countries such as Guinea, Mali and Ivory Coast as well some songs, solo phrases and musical arrangements. These are mixed level classes, Monette does her best to make sure everyone gets something out of them, but they are best if you have had a little experience with the djembe or are motivated to practice at home with some of her beginner videos on her YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@morhythm, Basic Djembe Explanation and Techniques for Beginners
Studio opens up at 4:45pm, please arrive early to set up so that class can start promptly at 5pm.
Drop-In Class Price: $20 ($22 if renting a djembe, must rsvp at least one day in advance to reserve a drum).
