MO’RHYTHM School of Percussion is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded by Monette Marino. The organization began in 1995 as Baraka Int’l Arts and in 1999 became Tam Tam Mandingue USA. Our school is known for its holistic and all-encompassing approach to teaching. In addition to drumming techniques and rhythms, students also learn about African traditional songs, stories and folklore, cultural history and the significance of music and dance in daily village life.
Mission Statement: Location and Services: In addition to ongoing classes, MO’RHYTHM School of Percussion has hosted workshops for internationally known master artists including Mamady Keita, Famoudou Konaté, Moustapha Bangoura, Mabiba Baegne, and more. MO’RHYTHM School of Percussion teachers and drum students have also performed for community events, played for drum classes, and participated in school (elementary – college) and library programs.
